Hey,has anyone heard if there are going to be anymore Flying eyeball road shows or reunions -I know that the floods last year in Iowa-specifically in Cedar Rapids hurt Wizzards business -but have not heard any updates or can find any RECENT info-would appreciate any info - thanks

....talked to some friends from Davenport last week about this, they heard Wizard turned it over to a car club of young guys, don't know if that's true or not,...heard it's still gonna go on, maybe around the 2nd weekend in August but not sure on that. Haven't heard from my friends, they were sposed to let me know something this week. If I hear anything, I'll post on here...
Yea it is going on this year. I got an email about working the gate this year. The show is on the 15th and I heard racing on the 16th. Might be a party on the nite of the 14th. Not sure about the friday nite deal.

Here's hoping the King Pins can help raise the bar at this show. I think it has potential and is in a good central area. I'm pretty sure me and Stick Shift are planning a road less traveled approach to the show from here if anyone is in for a leisurely cruise.
...I got an email from friends who live in the Davenport area, they said the show was turned over to a guy and girl named Anthony & Shiela who drive a Model A "rat rod" (their words, not mine). Here's a copy of the flyer they sent, no ph. no, listed tho... I have no further info at this time....looks like Saturday only... Jeff & Stick,...where are you meetin up to go down?

I live 10 minutes from there - and will most likely go down there in the morning - hopefully some cars will show up............. A well organized show should do well here - 2.5 hours from Ohare - that would bring in guys from Chicago.......2.5 hours from Des Moines.....2.5 hours from Wayland MO, 200 miles from Waukesha WI, 175 miles from Springfield, IL, 250 miles from Rochester MN, 300 miles from Omaha NE, 315 miles from Indianapolis............... I guess anything over 300 miles is just out of the realm of possibilty for most......but there really needs to be a good show here in the Quad Cities. The problem is that most people here are into the muscle cars in my opinion. You should know that the biggest show in the area here is the NorthPark Mall - that one gets about 500 cars in there (it has in the past) and this year it takes place on Sept 12. Again - not sure that crowd understands traditional hot rods.......I set up there 1 time. I figured EVERYONE into hot rods knows what Rat Fink is...... well I was wrong people were looking at me like I was from weirdsville - and I guess I am! But the scene here is just not into anything that is not shiny....... I hope ya'll can prove me wrong.
Yeah, "Traditional Hot Rodz" are few and far between here in the QUADS. But, "Coolstuff" as I remember you were there last year,and that was for what, an hour .....From what I gather ,through random conversations, the "King Pins" have offered their help with the SHOW.... Whether or not "WIZZARD" has relingquished all power ....is yet to be seen.Its OUR RESPONSIBILITY to help out the life of this show. To this I put out a "Friendly Challenge"........ PEORIA's "The Bombers"....I know you got a BAD*** crew, show up, or at least bring some representation down to the show. Chrome Czars...... Everyone knows how much of a KICK FREAKIN' AZZ show you put on in the Hunnert Car pileup, experience this show..... I am sure that this YOUNG group the "King Pins" would appreciate any kind of help to better this show. Or, even in some way, maybe this show could be the warm up to the PILE UP.......Possibilities are endless. But, instead of JUDGING THIS SHOW for it's past numbers.... or it's lack there of in traditional rodz.......... GET EM out!!!!!!!! My old but gets up early for this show .....KICK START my chopper and make it. Everyone else come on!!!!! Lets change some opinions on this show. THIS SHOW HAS ALWAYS HAD THE BEST PEOPLE AND IS ALWAYS FUN!!!!!!!!!!!! THE CHALLENGE HAS BEEN MADE!!!!!LET"S PROVE THE NEH' SAYERZ WRONG!
well, if a show ****ed in the past, then dont you think folks have a right to know??? if someone doesnt like our show, i dont give them **** about it! i ask them why and talk to them about it! i know alot of folks that went to last shows there and were not very happy about it! the best thing anthony could do is break away from wizz altogether! he has a very bad rep on here and elsewhere!!!!! so instead of "judging" this show, you think all who have been and been disappointed should just keep tryin? ya got one shot of makin a first impression of folks atta show! if you F*ck that up, it takes yrs to get them back!!!!! im sure the kingpins will turn this show around, i have no doubt they will!!!! there good peeps!!!! see ya on sat!
I'm just now hearing about this, and there's no way I can make it. Give the show a chance. It may have bombed for good reasons in the past, but hopefully the new organizers will correct that. One thing they obviously haven't learned is how to advertise since it's only a week away and there's still confusion and misinformation on the biggest traditional hot rod forum there is, thus blowing a key opportunity to draw cars and attendees!
hey now - I was there from 9 am to 330pm - just ask the wife.....cause I was wanting to get back down there before the show eneded - but we had family at the house and the wife made it very clear that if I did not do the BBQ that I would not get to sleep in the bed that night! you may have only seen me for an hour - I was talking to Ron Myers for at least 1 hour....then talking to a lot of other people.......I was out there filming for at least 2 hours........ and then I got a couple of guys to go out on the freeway for a bit to film so - I was there - I just really think that a central location like this needs to have a good show - we will have to see what can happen here...... again - I will show up - but if there are only 12 cars there..........I would rather spend time with my kids than see the same cars I see at every cruise in here in the area................ go ahead and flame me if you want - but when you spend as much time around car shows as I do - they gotta be pretty cool to keep my attention case in point - Rust Revival - THAT is a happening show! I just hope none of the mini bike drag compe***ors start to take that stuff seriously....once they do - it will lose the fun quotient
Well I guess there are a bunch of good reasons this show doesn't get advertised on here. Lots of bad blood and feelings. I still hope the show can recover and take off for the better! Now it looks like we are getting a group together from up here for a cruise down so at least the drive there and back will be fun.
