Would phenolic 1" carb spacers give you the breather clearance and have an extra advantage of limiting some heat to the carbs? Might make more power too?

Been running only these Moon breathers for 15 years. No oil blows out (with 10lbs boost) and no moisture inside the engine. Just have to take the top off one of the breathers to pour oil in the engine.

Whoops. Sometimes I get so caught up in what I'm doing I don't see what I'm doing. Notice the fuel line going in the "Out" port? And turns out the lower hose outlet didn't clear that flattened crossmember after all, once the Walker radiator was adjusted properly. It's all about the do- over ... IMG_2781.JPG IMG_2782.JPG

Have you thought about removing the breathers and welding up the holes?

I'm thinking about JB Welding the holes full and leaving the breathers on.

No offense but, is that a joke? Maybe for a conversation piece? I don't have a means to weld aluminum but I would take them to a welding shop and have them welded up. After sanding and polish they would be gone. Then add a small place on the top for your pcv, you already have the front breather so it would be all set. I've never used jb glue for anything before, and that is going to be in hot oil all the time so IMO it sounds iffy.

Some of you guys take two 7/32 holes WAY to seriously.

If they were put on correctly, It's the big hole in the middle I would be concerned with.

The valve covers have two 7/32" holes behind each breather. It matters not what size openings the breathers have, I could fill the little holes with gasket material and put a plate over them too, anything to block them off. It's no big deal.

IMG_2789.JPG IMG_2791.JPG IMG_2795.JPG IMG_2796.JPG This is as good as I can make this hood and grill fit. Not perfect, but not bad for a bunch of aftermarket parts and a rank amateur trying to fit it all together.

Most times trying to fit new and old together is just a PITA. Joe

I've been fitting mine for what seems like months now and I'd take that gap. ****, I don't even have hood sides.

33 and 34 Ford's look great but nobody appreciates the fit and finish more than another builder of the same.

    Keep it up Brian!

Brian, one thing that amazes me in building my own car is the longer I have it I keep changing things...and I haven't even got to drive it yet! One thing I changed was the 34 Tanks Inc unit like yours for a 32 tank that I modified heavily to fit my car. One item I milled for that 34 tank is an aluminum bolt on adapter and I fitted it for a flip top gas cap. Screws are countersunk, the cap base attaches with countersunk screws as well prior to adding the spring lid so they are also hidden. This wasn't a close up so it is not sharp but you get the idea.

Billy, the one thing I dislike about the tank I have is the cheesy filler and cap. The cap has a machined finish (although it does have kind of neat knurled sides), which I thought about sanding and buffing off, then stamp "FUEL" on. My buddy "Crafty B" makes neat gas caps, but I may be out of money soon. ;-)

One idea I had before I made that flip cap was to speed wire the fasteners on the tank filler neck. That would look pretty cool. The cap is cool that comes with it, if you mess yours up I'll send you mine. If you make it real cool, put a chain on it so a crack head doesn't walk off with it.

Regarding Crafty B, I concur completely and already have some of his product on my car!

Today's project: new seat rise, a hump in the trunk floor for the differential, and replace the missing corners on the splash aprons. IMG_2811.JPG IMG_2813.JPG IMG_2814.JPG View attachment 3640537

Picture may be deceiving, but how much fuel will you be able to put in the tank with the filler in that position?

Uhh, I dunno. It's a stock '34 tank and filler, so prolly whatever amount fits.

Big step forward, all the plumbing is done! I'd been overthinking the upper radiator hose, and simply bought a preformed one, cut it apart and spliced it together. The trans cooler lines are done, likewise fuel and brake lines. Now prep for paint and get some color on this bad boy! IMG_2826.JPG IMG_2828.JPG IMG_2831.JPG
