flywheel diameter 216-235

    Is the O.D. of a 216 flywheel the same as a 235 flywheel? I'm trying to find out if I can run a 216 flywheel in a 235 bellhousing and not have starter issues.

    Yes, it shoud clear in the later bell housing. Just make sure you run a 6V starter to match the ring gear.

    Alright, Thanks guys. I'm going to put a 1955 chevy truck bellhousing on the back of a 1955 235 and run the 216 flywheel. The reason I'm changing bellhousings is to put a T5 trans on the truck bellhousing. Going from 3 on the tree to 5 on the floor. Thanks again.
