    School me stock 1957 chevy 283 stock starter that bolts to the bell housing org bell housing what flywheel and ring gear do I need

    One for a 1957 Chevy? I think they only used one size on those years....

    Did you call a local parts house?

    Correct there was only 1 flywheel size for a 57 Chevy. It would be the larger diameter , usually referred to as the 168 tooth one.
