Hello: I'm looking to build a car. My preference is '30-'31 ford roadster. I want a traditional car , but I'm on the fence about what costitutes a traditional car. I know I want it Black , zero billet( not a fan). No aluminum parts.....unless I make them. I have been snooping around the Tech pages and found some great stuff. Paul, from Lahar Valley... SamIAm ...... A guy named Stutz.....and a guy I can't remember his name(built his own '32 rails from scratch)....all outstanding fabbers! I'm inspired. all of these guys use the real stuff. But if I use a more modern suspension is that wrong? More modern diff? Trans? Engine? Living where I do I don't have the access to all the old good stuff. Ok , enough whining.....I am attaching a few photos of my Friend Andy's car.......this is what I'm shooting for. His is all real 80 year old steel. Any kind of feedback welcome. Cheers, Weese
since youre shooting for a full fender car, you can get away with more on the suspension since its hidden. It "will be" your car. so truly traditional or taking some liberties is up to you. A lot of times you build what you can find.
Just keep looking at what gets jeers or cheers here. You'll find your calling. OR you could build what ever you want and not give a damn. The world is yours.
