I purchased a 1953 Gmc off of craigslist. It has been sitting in the previous owners garage for 15 years. I bought it as a project truck for my Dad and I to work on. A little quality Father-Son time in the shop.

We are in the process of getting it running. New 6V battery, changing fluids, fresh gas etc...

Welcome from East Texas. We will all pray to the 302 god for you. Good Luck

If it does have a 302 in it, I have a sweet 230 I'd trade you for that old cast iron clunker. :D:D:D:D:D

Thanks guys. My Dad and I tore this thing apart.

Radiator is shot. It still had the original baffle style thermostat. New upper and lower hoses.

Brakes are toast. We are going to replace from the master cylinder all the way to the shoes.

There is a crack in the block. It was repaired but I have never seen anything like this. A strip of metal was put over the crack and then several bolts were tapped into the block to hold it in place.

Cool. Me and my dad have a 1950 5 window we are working on. What can I say,...sometimes its pretty cool and sometimes you just want to bang your head on the fender. Overall we are pretty lucky to have them around to work with.

Welcome to the HAMB. Heres a pic of ours....
