To follow the rules I'm posting an introduction. I don't have a "traditional" hot rodding background but have been active with the car hobby for MANY years. My current rides are not appropriate for here so I won't bore you with them. I'm not big on bio's but I'm retired from Army Aviation and work as a pilot for the DoD currently. My current project will be yet another "street modified" much like the cars I remember for the late 60's to the mid 70's. My heros growing up were guys like Ray Hendrick, Eddie Crouse, Al Grinnan, Sonny Hutchins and many others who tore up the tracks in VA, NC, and SC. I have used the search feature with great success so far and still have plenty to learn to make this thing happen. The cars below serve as my inspiration:
welcome. how old are you.. i dont suppose you knew a kid named james brown used to live down there . he drove a boosted green acura integra ?
I like all kinds of cars if somebody put thought and sweat into them. Black car looks like it would pull about 3 Gs in the slalum, slolum,(between the pylons).
Amen, I would do it all over again. Just to be clear --- those cars are not mine. They are just inspiration for my project and they are nice.
You probably know this but it might be news to some. Our city has a monument to the Boll Weevil! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boll_Weevil_Monument Our local car club is named the Weevil City Cruisers. We (most) all have weevil names -- mine is "Medieval Weevil" but we have some better ones. As in don't make me go "medieval" on your azz. Evil Weevil Knievel Weevil Upheaval Weevil Wobble Weevil Debil Weevil etc...
Thanks, it's gonna be slow going unless I sell one of my other cars. I can't bring myself to do that just yet.
My project has changed to something different and probably not appropriate for here. FFR 33 Ford Hot Rod, all the specs make it too new and high tech for you guys. It will still be fun.
Welcome to the board Geoffav, Cool old coupes man! From an old Airborne Rigger in Vincent Al. "If he messes with me I'll put into the wall".
Welcome from Tallahassee FL. Retired police helicopter pilot here + retired state executive pilot. Just hung it up back in Oct '08. This place is a hoot, welcome aboard.
