I am a recently retired auto worker and now find time to get in the garage, burn some metal, spray some paint and hopefully get my current long term project on the road. Current project is a 55 F100 that I traded a V8 Vega sedan delivery for 21 years ago. I ******ed out the motor clipped the frame, chopped the top 6", and pushed it to the side in the garage for the next 20 years. Always got another project getting in the way, and after lurking on here for a while, I see I am not alone. I made my living painting cars (and anything else that would sit still long enough) over the last 35 years or so with the most recent in the auto manufacturing industry. Sprayed a lot of lacquer and acrylic enamel back in the 60's and 70's. Haven't worked with much of the aftermarket products in recent years. I recognize that there is a tremendous amount of talent on this site and I hope to learn from it. Thanks Damn, I haven't been called a FNG in a looong time. Been the FOG for quite a while. I think I like it.
Anybody who has a project waiting longer than I (16 years) have is more than welcome! I traded a tractor for mine.
Their are several hamb members from mid tenn. they dont post often.. What part mid tenn?? Which plant?? As hamb members work at the plants in smyrna and columbia.. Watch the baord as several hamb friendly events are coming up close to nashville// WELCOME from Alabama.... Bobby....
I worked at the smyrna plant. Most of the guys that I knew were muscle car fanatics. Always had to have correct overspray, hose clamps, markings under hood etc... whatever floats your boat, just not my cup of tea. I've had enough garage queens in my life. Yes I would like to know about the local area events. Thanks to all you guys for the welcome!
