Hey everybody, I've been lurking around this site all winter and I figure I better say hi so I can get in on the conversations! I've been into old rods since the 60's but never got one, thanks mostly to funds and marraige. I finally got around to looking for one, but ended up with two. Last spring I found a 1948 ford 2door sedan that is real straight, but was missing the Flattie. Well I found a 51 F5 with one so I bought it for $300. Pulled the motor out and cleaned it up, turned out it was a rebuilt with low miles! Well now I'm going through the brakes and the rest of the driveline and wiring. Hope to have it out of my cold garage by the time the snow melts. My other find is a 53 Belair 2 door post with a stock 235 powerglide. It has some rust in the rear quarters and trunk but not to bad. Both of these have been sitting outside since the 60's. I primed the 235 and turned it over a few times, she fired right up!! I want the old Fat Ford on the road first tho. I'll post some pics later. Got to get out to the garage and get to work on it.
