No, not that Kramer! But I am a Kramer. Dave Kramer to be exact. I have been lurking for a year or so now and finally signed up a couple of months ago. Havent introduced myself yet, and finally today started getting a message stating such, so here it is. Lets see, I grew up in Bend, OR. I learned to drive in a 49 Desoto, 53 Chrysler, and a 51 Plymouth Savoy (Not at the same time). I have had a 56 GMC pickup, (my first vehicle that I owned) a 55 chevy PU and a 66 Mustang coup. (loved that car) I am building a 23T in a 60s style, (glass body, sorry you guys that dont like glass, when you cant find steel you do what ya gotta do). And I have a 37 chev PU cab that will be a future project. Also I have a 292 or 312 Y block engine (from the numbers and info off the internet I have been able to determine it could be either.) Havent decided what that will go in yet. I am a believer that a chevy engine belongs in a chevy and a ford engine in a ford, so it will be a ford something. The T is getting an early 289, not the Y. Oh ya, I live in beautiful Grants Pass in S W Orygun. Ooops Oregon. I am a native, you would think I would know how to spell it. Sorry for the interruption, now back you your regularly scheduled programming.
Welcome from Williams, OR. Pull the oil pan on the Y and if the main caps are marked ECZ, you have a 312.
Thanks for replying, I was hoping I didn't have to tear the engine down to find out which it is. Although I will be rebuilding it before it goes in what ever I end up putting it in.
