Great site. Been lurking for a while soaking up a lot of good info. Finally joined so I can hopefully get some answers when I need help specific to my own project. I'm just a working man with a family who has always loved cars and motorcycles. I have modified every vehicle I've ever owned, but never built one from the ground up. I always wanted to build a Model A, but thought it was out of reach. Recently, I've come to the realization that I'm not getting any younger, so if that Model A is ever going to be a reality, I better get crackin'! You can't finish what you never start, so I've started collecting parts here and there, as I can afford them. It will take years as money supports the family first, and the car gets the left overs (which is very little). Subscriptions to OL' SKOOL RODZ, and Car Kulture Deluxe keep me inspired, and dreaming of the day my parts finally become a car that will I will never part with. In the meantime, I love every minute I spend in my shop, working toward that goal.
Thanks for the warm welcome. Hopefully, I'll get to know some HAMBers that are reaalatively close to where I live now. I was born & raised in So-Cal, where I had lots of freinds who were gear heads. Now that I live in farm country, I don't know anyone that I can relate to. Can't wait to see the HAMB drags next year, and get around some "normal" people.
Here's a belated welcome from Clarksville. It appears that we may have pounded some of the same dirt. I was born & raised in So.Cal., also. Moved to Phoenix in '68 and out here in '94. I am currently trying to get my shop up so I can get back to the projects, '26 Coupe, '28/'29 Tudor & a '66 F100. I see you found the Arkansas H.A.M.B.'ers group. Again, Welcome.....
Welcome from Alabama, your Model A project is looking good! You got the right idea about family first, just hang in there, good things come to those who wait. John
Welcome from MO. I used to deliver retreads to a tire shop in Berryville about 16 yrs ago, neat little town.
Wow! I hadn't checked this thread in a little while. I had no idea there were so many more Responses. Thanks again to everyone who took the time to welcome me, and look at my profile. It's more than I expected for sure! I had already decided when I found this site that it was the best I've seen by a long shot. Looks like it's full of great people on top of it. (BONUS!)
Hey Engine Ear. I saw you are a huge Pontiac fan according to your profile, and was just curious on your thoughts regarding Pontiac going the way of the dodo bird.
