Hello all. I joined las month but have not gone through with the intro until now. I have been so busy reading all of the great and informitive post. There is allot to learn just from the experiences of others. I am 29 and live in indy. I am currently building my first hot rod. It is a 29 tudor hi-boy, 4" chop and 4" channel. Filled roof. SBC tripower, th350, 8"rear. Firestone grooved rears and ribbed fronts on steel rims with 46 ford caps. Sitting on A rails with an A grill shell. Right now I am building the floor bracing to complete the channel. I am lucky in the sense that my wife wants the car done as bad as I do. We both come from car families and it has been a while since we last had a car of our own to cruise. I have a 3 yr old daughter that is as crazy about cars as I can ever remember being as a kid. I hope to be driving my car this time next year. My question is what would be a good gage of sheet metal to buy to skin my floor with. I want something that will be pretty easy to work with. I do not have a shear, is it possible to build it out of something that can be cut with a pair of snips. The floor frame will be very strong, it is 1x1 .082 wall tubing. Any pictures that could be posted of tudor floor structures would be a help. I will post some pictures of my car soon. Thanks to all!!
I guess thats why they call us FNGs, welcome from another FNG from Pa. Sounds like your doing quite well with your project. BIG D
Welcome from Australia. The '29 sounds great. Don't see too many channelled cars these days. Lookin' forward to those pics.
Welcome from PA. Cool town you live in. Do you attend any of the Rock a billy shows out there? Or the nostalgia races at Indy raceway park?
I can hear the announcer from IRP from my back deck if the wind is just right. They ran LUCAS oil nationals this weekend the fuel cars will rattle the windows. We are about a quarter mile away.
