The car has great lines, nice chop and the grill is "old school".

These things have some great lines. I wonder why they aren´t done more often. Heres a photochop I did a while ago.

  3. Oh wow! That does have to be one of the sexiest chops this little boy has ever seen. I'm glad those beaks 'fell' off, but I'm not too sure about the replacements??
I think something better could be found that compliments the lines better than the circles??
But its your car (And YES I am jealous!).
    Doc.

that has got to be a looong car if you swapped 56 lincoln frame in...wowza! rad car man, that chop is perfect...lnot enough cars chopped with good proportions these days..most are over-chopped. love the caddy grill and can't wait to see it attatched! I love early customs. I think once the 60's rolled around, they really started losing some class(not in ALL cars, but most) but that is why I'm trying to build my 56 chevy as if it was built in 57. not easy to do these days...cheers!

...thanks again for the great comments guys and T2Vracing for the details I need when fiddling with the intake and carbs....I posted a little "TECH" thing a couple of weeks ago......you can see an update on the grille and where it is going to sit. I took out the 'hammerhead' grille opening which seemed to simplify the front end. Then I narrowed the upper grille bar and am looking for another top grille bar to round off the ends of the lower level.....if anyone has one send me a PM......

    ...more questions, ask away
...re: the "long car" -the wheelbase (125") has a difference of 1" between '46 and '56 which is unnoticable under the fender skirts and the track has a 1/2 " difference.....the illusion for the size of the '56 Lincoln is due to the overhang front and back......this sounds like it was totally calculated for this project but in reality, it was a complete and utter fluke...I guess I just live right......hahahah

Great Idea!! How about a reunion at Linc's place to check out this beast after two years of progress? Maybe even be able to get 'ol chuck to come out of hiding? What day of the week is July 15th this year? David????

shoprat...I know what you mean, I pissed and moaned about changing it, finally did it and now it has grown on me. I think I like it more than the recess in the trunk because the other elements of the rear all are constructed 'low' on purpose. The Poncho taillights, the bumper guards, the bumper itself, and the 'fall-off' of the rear fenders, all draw the eye down as it should for a tail-dragger (in my opinion). I just felt the recess in the trunk detracted from that.....

playin'hookie - you must have read my mind. Cookie is coming over some time during the Summer and I thought it would be great to have a reunion when he is here -not sure if his plans have been firmed up tho'....
