Introducing yourself to a group as unforgiving as the HAMB is a little scary, but after watching "villonte" go down in flames, I think I've learned the following: 1.Don't shoot your mouth off to sound cooler than you are 2.Don't ********; the HAMB can smell a lie like a fart in a car That being said, here's a little about me...I am 33 years old, make my living as a carpenter, and own a small construction business. I have also been tattooing for aboout 5 years and recently picked up pinstriping...all the fun of tattooing without the *****ing and bleeding and squirming. After a lifetime of wishing and wanting, I FINALLY had a little extra scratch and talked my patient and long-suffering wife into buying our first ever project car, a 52 chevy 4 door.(Thanks, Fat Hack..) So now I'm in the process of getting it home frome Dearborn,MI to Racine,WI where it will sit in my shop until I figure out where to start and what I want to do with it. I'm thinking low, loud, black, simple. Maybe chop the top some day but I want to get it running and driving first. So there it is, my HAMB intro...let the beatings begin.....
Hey good job on the intro,I know exactly how you feel.WELCOME Do you have any pics to share of your ride?
If you find Fat Hack's post from a few days ago, that's the car. I'll post some more pics once I get her home.
I met a VERY well known Nextel cup crew chief who is a lurker on this board, the guy is from North Carolina, knew more about open wheel racing than about anyone I ever met, then he started talking about dry lakes racing, I was shocked that he knew anything about the kind of racing I love. He knew almost as much about my families racing historyas I do. I mean this guy is THE REAL DEAL very nice, quiet, understated, great guy, you would ALL know who he is if I mentioned his name, but he doesn't want to post anything on here and get blasted by the newbie Nazi's which I find a complete shame, he could share so much knowledge with this board that it would make your head spin. I guess what I am getting at is it's a shame we are all missing out on input from him so maybe some of us should go a little easier on some of the new guys.
Hey thanks, Greg...I wanted to post a picture last night but it didn't work.(I know even less about computers than I do about cars.) Didja get that deposit yet?
Not yet, hoping Jim (the mailman!) makes me happy tomorrow! Here's what you may end up with after a little metal surgery...
