  1. That's the plan. Front end is out right now. Dropped axle going in soon. Got one fender skirt made. The other is cut, but not formed. Trying to find a good flathead. Considering a Desoto himi conversion. Really want to show it as is next cruise season.

Doug, Thanks for starting this thread, if the 3Window is your dream car it is a nice one. I've had projects all my life, most got sold off to finance better ones, I'm at the point were there are only 3-4. Finishing a project after I have a clear vision of it is very difficult, why spend time and money if the picture in your head is so clear? There are about a half dozen "HAMB Builts" that I follow every day or so, they motivate me to make progress on my '30 Roadster. I found the body in 1962, so focus is not something I'm good at.

  4. You sound like you're in a fortunate situation and to answer your question of "How do we do it?", well that is simple AND complex. I think of it this way: Scientists have no real idea why it is we sleep, even still, why it is we dream. But without sleep we, as humans, can't live...and everyone dreams while they sleep. So as long as we must sleep, we must dream. Such is life.

Or at least that's my take.[/QUOTE]

Hmmm. That reeks a little of justification more than a solution. Lol.

If there was a solution, it probably would have presented itself by now.;)

I started to view my hobby as an addiction a few years back. I built one rod, a 1950 Chevy pickup, with some of the modern mods. It drove great and it was my only car for a few years. Then I got a newer commuter and lost interest in old cars briefly and sold my 50. Immediately, it seems, I dragged home a '39 Chevy truck, a '40 Chevy truck and a '33 Buick 4 door. All were huge projects which I sold to help with a down for my house. Except the '40 which I gave to my brother, but it still lives in my yard. Here just a few years later I've got no less than 4 car projects: 2 Model As, a '62 Chevy truck that was my Grandpa's, and my '64 Stude "daily driver" which didn't drive much farther than getting it home.

But I'll get them all done eventually. I figure I've got time and since it's the only hobby that I'm really happy doing and it brings me joy I don't think I need a reason or a justification. It's just fun and it's all good. Thanks for starting the topic!
