I have had these fog lights for many years but I have no idea what they go to or how old they may be. Can anyone here help me with an ID. I plan on taking them to a swap meet in November so an idea of value would also be nice,if that is allowed. They will polish up pretty nice.
The name on the light tells you all you need to know. After market accessory. Google search turned up this. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/vintage-fog-king-6-fog-lights-pair.1038778/.
Don't sell 'em too cheaply. They're nice and very complete with the mounting brackets which are all too often missing. Lenses look very nice, no cracks, nice color. Even includes the switch. I wouldn't sell those for less than $200. Just my thoughts.
They look just like these. Not sure what year they are but pre-sealed beams puts them in the '30 s? Sealed beams '40s?
Thanks for the replies. I haven't tested them yet because the wiring is in poor condition. I'll take them apart first chance I get and see if they work.
I rigged the lights up to a six volt battery and both worked. The switch worked and it lights up as well. I can even get NOS Westinghouse bulbs for them. They are sealed beams.
Very nice. Mine are the older bulb style and I have them wired up as turn indicators. Love the shape, size and overall appearance!
How dumb am I? Here I am trying to figure out what to ask for the fog lights at the swap meet when I casually glance out my window at the car sitting under a tarp next to my shop. It's a 39 Pontiac that my wife wants me to fix for her. So, slowly it dawned on me that I might could maybe use them on the car. Anyway, after supper I went out and loosely bolted them on. I think they look pretty good. In fact they look better than the car itself!
