Very cool. What did the new owner replace those wheels and tires on the coupe with?

    Hi Chris,
Great job so far, on page 22 you say that the windscreen is chopped 2". Did you chop it or was it already done?, i'm about to cut down a 34 screen and i'm have a bit of an issue chopping the post as there cast iron I think I will have to pin them and braze them? I'm not sure were the best place would be to cut them just below the frame mount or down low, I was thinking low, more area to weld.
    Cheers Steve.

  12. Shaun and I went to Logan's tonight to smear a little lead out. Naturally it didn't go as smooth as hoping. We discovered the driver's side was pretty beat in after the old lead was removed. Shaun and Logan decided to cut the wrinkled up piece out and weld a new piece in. This also brought the corner of the cowl back to where it was supposed to be. We ran outta lead and time, so will finish it tomorrow night. Shaun did get the passenger side done.

Both Logan and I learned a little about leading. It does not look too difficult but does look like quite an art to master.

So instead of "getting the lead out" you guys are "getting the lead in".....cool!

  16. The chopped w/s stanchions and frame came with my old roadster already chopped.

  17. Be careful handling that lead without gloves, breathing in the fumes, etc!

I've seen the damage that lead poisoning can do.

Subscribing to this one. She's coming along nicely! Can't wait to see it done!

  19. Like, just handling raw lead can be harmful? I did not know that...

  20. Tonight Shaun finished the drivers side and we called it an early night and went and got a steak!

I started stripping what little was left on the body getting it ready to prime. I'm heading over Sunday to sand the whole body and get it sealed in one color. Then it will be coming home! I need to kick it in the ass and get this sucker on the road...good news is the weather is shit here right now with no end in sight, so it;s not like I'm missing out on not driving it :D

  23. Had a good weekend, started mid day yesterday sanding with my good pal Garrett who volunteered (I don't think he knew what he was getting into) and Logan finishing some minor dough work until late last night. Got the sanding 95% done and I went back this morning and finished it along with some other odds and ends, then masked the sucker off and Logan shot some DP50 on it. It came out great, my fingers hurt and I appreciate REALLY strait cars a lot better now...and I only got this thang into primer!

Car will be back at my digs this week, and back together she goes!!!

3WLarry, I agree! I told chris that I liked her turquoise hood and yellow doors, but whats done is done and she is looking pretty snazzy all one color. I think that the dark green color as the final color stage will look awesome though :)

Chris I am so Proud of you and all the hard work you have put in to this car, it will be even that much more special to drive away from our wedding in. Now get her put back together so you can take me for a spin and we can roll her down to Bonneville this August before we get hitched ;) xoxo
