I have had packaging with FoMoCo on them for parts as old as early 1950's. Some say that it started being used in the late 20's right after Chrysler came up with MOPAR (MOtor PARts)
This is a steering column part for a 1940 Ford. I sold the part but I remember that FOMoCo was cast into the other side of the part. Part number begins with 01A.
On that 01A...I think it is likely either a replacement part made in the fifties or perhaps that shifter part was still used in production on F series pickups. I have lots of NOS Ford boxes up to 1948, and all have just Ford designation. Many early Ford parts remained in sporadic production if they were still selling well in the fifties and sixties, and warehouse stocks were sometimes repacked in new boxes. I have seen early ford NOS in Fomaco boxes, but the stuff I have says Ford right up to 1948, so I believe the Fomoco ones were made or packed later than '48.
