What is the big deal? The guy has done well for himself and people get all weird when the guy goes a different direction than what people usually see. I respect that he has done so well for himself and regardless of what you think of the style, the craftsmanship is there (which is a lot better than some of the stuff I have seen posted here before). And I like the fact that he is into many different styles. I don't cuff my jeans or listen to rockabilly music or grease my hair. Does that make me less of a hot-rodder? I own a couple of muscle cars, does that mean that I can't like early fords? I'm glad to see a "street-rodder" getting back to the roots of hot-rodding. I would like to see more cars built in a traditional style with better fit and finish.

Fat Hack, you crack me up man. You should go build something and stop sweating what some guys on the internet think, what vans won awards, and who builds what car... In reality, does any of it REALLY matter?

Amen, Brother! Foose is just like any other shop owner. He has to build what his customer wants and influence it with his design knowledge and building skills. What about what TrappedInBumpkinville said about Bob Hirohata? What about George Poteet? That man commissions builders to build all sorts of cars, including some traditional themed ones. Like the '34 fenderless roadster built by Roy Brizio. I haven't heard anyone blast Roy Brizio in this thread. Another talented "son of" a talented builder who successfully runs a good shop.

Foose is building his P32 for himself not somebody else and on a traditional theme. Once its on the road, let's see how many of his ideas influence the cars being built here. And as for his using a Brookville body. Sure its not original Henry steel; BUT, because there is less work in getting the body ready to use, the car will be on the road sooner. Maybe for Chip, he's doing that because he needs the time for his customer's cars, so he can pay for the P32? Give the man a break! He is talented, no doubt about it. And he has been influenced by the many great ones in our hobby/industry. Just like those guys influenced everybody here. You should all be welcoming the car and the builder and not *****ing about it or him. Get real!

There is always one guy at the end of the bar, ranting at the top of his voice to anyone who will listen and ****ing all the life out of the room.

I have gone to the Autorama since the very FIRST one and I will go till I drop and I will go to see what everyone has built. I may not like every car in the place, but I will enjoy the sights and sound and the car friends that are there. If I don't like someones car, I will have the courtesy to keep my opinions to myself. Why would I want to offend someone who is enjoying a hobby. I enjoyed everything in the ba*****t, but I also would be proud to have that Riddler award winner, and I would be proud to shake Chip Foose's hand.

One other thing that I would never do and that is use foul language on a public forum. I have no right to tell someone else not to do it, but I would try to get my point across without offending someone in the process. I know I am an old coot, but I am proud of that and remember when the Autorama started it was started my hotrodders who tried to raise the public opinion of hotrodding by doing things that were socially correct. We didn't always succeed and there were always guys who didn't get it, but I am proud to be a part of that early group of rodders that were the beginning of everything called traditional today.

Any man who can walk-the-walk, talk-the-talk and be a decent human being has my respect.

    Chip Foose has my respect.

What cracks me up about this post is all the guys *****ing that goes something like this: "All you guys *****ing about Foose are full of ****, blah, blah, blah!" There are nearly 8 pages of Foose praise and basically one guy that peed in Foose's cornflakes. So, it's pretty close to unanimous. Foose is good, haters are bad. So, for the love of God, can we drop it!
