Anybody have an idea what company made these aluminum gas pedals? I got them and lots of old stuff with a 57 Corvette g***er I just bought. Thanks.
probably every high school metal shop cl*** in the 60s and 70s had patterns to cast them. i bet i made a dozen of them
Here are a few pictures of the 57 Corvette g***er. Straight axle and 2 extras (CAE). Olds rear end with Lakewood bars 377 stroker motor, T10 4 speed+++++ Cragers with 16" by 12" Goodyear Blue Streak slicks in good shape. Fenderwell headers and stuff I still have not unpacked. Flared rear wheelwells, nicely done. All this stuff has been sitting for 40+ years. Should be a kick*** project when done.
The Bud Light cases are full of NOS GM parts and some of them have the old original Corvette parts. No, I didn't drink all the Bud, I get the boxes at our Moose 501. My wife and I have been cataloging the NOS parts and so far I have over 250 separate part numbers. Still a few more boxes to go. This whole deal has been crazy............... More to come later.
On nomenclature...anybody know when "Modified Sports" cl*** went away? In fifties and early '60's MS was the equivalent of gas cl*** for pseudo streetable sports cars.
That type of pedal was first used for air brake pedals on big trucks. They became so popular with hotrodders that a few aftermarket companys like moon and eelco started making them.
Somewhere on here Kiwikev has a thread all about old gas pedals if I remember correctly! I have the one on the right, but haven't figured out how to mount it in my Plymouth yet.
