Without trying to offend you any further, let me say this. If you post on this site you will probably get some flak and some criticism along the way. Myself, I just try to be objective and ignore things that aren't useful or helpful. I always tell my son and grandson, as long as you do the right thing......you know it. It doesn't matter what the other person does in response..........within reason. Like holding a door for someone who then acts as if you don't exist. Doesn't really matter how they responded..........you know that you did the right thing.

If someone goes too far and personally attacks you, it may be something that you want to reply to. Instead of calling people names and getting pissed (which ruins my day, not theirs), I usually try to substantiate what I said by objectively providing information. Those looking for information can decide who they agree with, but I don't let it bother me.

The suggestion to move to the "OFF TOPIC" thread is actually a good idea in my opinion. Posting on the Traditional side means you are limited in what people can suggest and provide information and pictures. They can still provide the info that you get on the Traditional side........but they might have some suggestions that can really improve the trucks handling and drive ability. My opinion( :)) for whatever thats worth, going to an older straight axle doesn't really help driveability or braking, but if you are sure thats what you want.....then go for it. Had a friend many years ago that put a Hemi in a 54 Ford pickup. I always thought it was pretty neat.

Try the "OFF Topic" thread, and I think you will enjoy it............and virtually nothing ever gets deleted. I even post traditional stuff over there because I often don't realize I'm violating a rule...........so come on over and enjoy the view.:)

We replaced all the Henways with Hammerfores.

The problem with this thread is the OP asked if there was anything he was missing. The answer has been given, he just doesn't like the presentation. Hemi engines are iconic and have a strong following. The old hot rods he cites people being praised for installing Hemi engines in are also iconic. Pairing two icons is always praised. The 65 F100 have a following of loyalist. That is a far cry from being Iconic. This same following is mostly purists. Placing off brand engines in their beloved Fords is not well received and since the Fords don't reach the icon status, wasting (their opinion) an iconic engine on an alright but not special truck is a waste. The OP clearly doesn't want to hear that. Had he said he was building a gasser pickup, it might have been better received. As stated, his truck, his engine, do as he pleases. But that doesn't mean everyone needs to be excited about it.
