So I finally plunked down some cash for a Lincoln SP 135 Plus MIG. I've been borrowing one for months and have been following threads here and elsewhere. I'm just starting and this rig has been fine for what I've tried so far, I'm sure my tastes will change with time. But it should do for a while. A buddy just turned me on to this site at Lincoln: http://www.lincolnelectric.com/knowledge/articles/list.asp Pretty fun, especially if you ever wanted to weld up a Hay Feeder.... Mike
i went for gold and picked up a refurbished miller 250... $900 at a swap meet. a friend borrowed it for a couple months and had zero problems
I have one of those, too. It works great on 1 inch 16ga square tube. I've not tried it on the frame yet, but the walls are 0.120", so I think I'll be ok. .
Baron- ya say welder? I need a drip rail welded back together. I'll supply the scotch/beer brand of your choice and consumables for your rig. About a 24" bead. The night of your last show my girlfriend was sick. Had to play nursemaid or else...Pm me.
Those little Lincolns are great units. They are very vesatile. When I save up some money, I plan on getting one myself. Cogratulations on your purchase, I know you will enjoy it.
i have the same machine, love it. I recently forked out the cash for a HEAVY DUTY 50' extension cord. It made quite a difference, so git one if you ain't got one. Thanks for the link. I will post pics of my hay feeder when it's done. .
I also got the 135+ probably my favorite tool, along with the trusty angle grinder. I've checked that site out a bit as well some nice info on it. Here is a site that'll keep ya lookin for days! shit load of links to a TON of information on metalworking... http://www.metalwebnews.com/
