I looked at the stars and the moon and saw something that needed my attention. So here I was.

It's kinda like a speedboat ride. You respond to one thing and that is left behind sooo quick that you have to move onto the next to just keep up with the flow. It's fun and entertaining.

I belong to the "Killbillet" forum for RatRods. I had heard a rumour that many of the HAMB guys dump on the RatRoders that visit/belong here so I thought I'd have a look for myself and see what your all about

While wasting my time on another board, I heard that there were a lot of foul mouth nasty boys over here and decided to check it out. Found out that was not 100 % accurate and found that most here were more in line with what I was looking for and identified with, so decided to stay.

Travel back to that other board once in a while to see if the idiocy continues. It does.:D

A buddy told me about it who has not joined yet. He has not begun to depend on a computer just yet. As well every time I did a search on a subject, The H.A.M.B. always came up as a source. Awesome site full of great knowledgeable people. I had to join this group. Thanks to all who have unknowingly helped me out.

  8. Well I went through the whole cycle...got into muscle cars in my teens...lived breathed mopar muscle then restored a couple...got tired of show car sceen...dumped them for full size mopar cruisers with dents and dings but can haul the family in style...and recently I have been getting the bug for a nice trad. style rod....have been reading Hot Rod Deluxe for a while and the Hamb had been mentioned more then once so i finaly paid a visit.

No project as of yet but I have narrowed things down to engine/tranny and possible years of cars I'm looking for....so I'm getting there, but am still wasting mucho time learning on this site.;):)

  9. Google search for 1953 Chev led me here first. So I lurked for a bit then joined. I dont plan on leaving anytime soon.:)

I heard about it through friends and mentioned in Rodder's Journal. I like the basic cars and lack of billit aluminum here. I love traditional cars and trucks built on a budget at home. I have been following some very interesting threads that i find very entertaining. Chris's black A coupe from Spokane for example. I am not going any where soon.

And what does FNG stand for ....or do i want to know?

Been a long time member on DFWstangs...lots of the guys there post here too. They always were talking about the "HAMB" so I googled HAMB and here I am.

And since no one here approves of my '67 Impy I've been looking for a more HAMB worthy ride to start on ;)

  16. Your philosophy will be a perfect fit here.....

As far as FNG-------no, you don't want to know......

  17. I found the HAMB years ago when it was different. I joined, asked a question and immediately got flamed on by a bunch of kids whose daddys' wern't born when I started playing with hot rods.
Some of these punks were vishus (sp?), and I figured I didn't need that sh%^ from some punk that probably didn't even have a hot rod so I left and stayed gone for many years.
So fast forward, and I ran across some guys at the Texas goodguys that were promoting the HAMB, and they seemed like pretty nice folks. So I brought up the site one day, and viola! I'm still on the rolls!
Needless to say, I've learned more about how to do it right on here that ANYWHERE else I know of.
If you ask intelligent questions, and take sometimes lame attempts at humor for what they are, you will find good answers to your questions.
I come on EVERY morning (post whore??) and I learn something EVERY morning. It even makes my morning coffee taste better!
I really should get photo bucket, but I'm too lazy! Thanks, Mike

I found it doing searches for hot rod pics. looking for ideas and info on how to build and such. lurked around for a year then decide to join after I wanted to make a comment on a thread. Been glad I did ever since. It's my home page. Next step is to join the Alliance. Real Soon. P.S. still haven't decided on what to build.

I'm the kind of person that when something piques my interest I spend days reading everything I can about it. I've always like cars but I was more into muscle cars. I realized I didn't know as much as I should about early hot rods, so I began doing searches on Google and these forums kept coming up.

I suppose I'll hang around a bit, reading as much as I can. Who knows, maybe someday when money's better I'll finally make that hot rod I always wanted :D

Google searching weird stuff... didnt bother signing up until a buddy from Houston ( and member with lots of nice rides ) scored a project for me that I have been wanting to do. Then I ended up buying another project off a member on the site to assist the original project and decided I have to many other project's and need to find a more together project instead of the current project.....

Anyway, yea great website. Im still "hunting" the right girl ( project)
