So after three years I got to drive my Model A Modified and I'll be driving and finishing that as I go When I started researching for that build I really fell in love with Pre 30's race cars. I had a handful of pics saved for future reference.

A few years back I was given a Model T ch***is that was real clean. This sparked the idea for a build, but not actively looking for parts. Along the way I picked up a Model A ch***is in trade. I kept the front end, trans, steering and all the mechanical brake parts. The frame and rear end went off to Midwest Fabrication with Mr. Bleed. Later on I picked up another rear axle, T radiator shell and a 35/36 drive shaft for header. This past week I found the deal that locked in the build. An old buzz saw that was made from old Model A parts.

I cleaned up the wiring, points and distributor. Fixed a stuck needle in the carb and added some fresh gas. The old man I bought it from told me several time that it "runs like an Elgin Watch", and after a few tries, sure as **** it ran. I put the belt on and ran the saw too. Scary!

Anyway, the idea is a Model T frame, aluminum body, single seat, Model A axles and brakes, 21" wire wheels/tires and a Model A engine/Trans. Aside from the width differences, it seems like a pretty straight forward swap. The reason for the T frame is to keep it narrow. Looking for any input you might have on the build. It'll beca slow one. 1403382_10100666888896740_341527756_o.jpg 12030367_10101438430645890_629677968684652102_o.jpg 11051214_10101438430526130_2855295888945156017_o.jpg 11838969_10101398376394930_3605199392857770694_o.jpg

If this is gonna be half as nice as the first build, it's gonna be great!

What us the frame under the saw from? Model A?
It looks almost mint and with steelies.
    Nice deal!

That's a 73 Mini. Bought it when I was in college.

The frame is model A. Super clean. I pulled all the saw stuff and the engine off and found a vin. It had three Lincoln 16" wheels wheels too. Super well done conversion, and everything was bolted together.

Is that a V8 sitting in the Model T frame? I hope you use a four or inline six instead. They look so good in a sprint car.

I'm down! I've got a T frame in my shed that I've been having similar thoughts on. I cut mine though (which I kinda regret now) because I was going to make a K member out of it at one point. But I can clean it up and use the cuts for a Z. Anyway, I have a spare T cowl and some touring doors that I was thinking of doing something small, banger powered, & fun with. I was even thinking about running mechanical brakes since I've got a complete 36 front end earmarked for my pile.

I'm sure you'll finish before me again though ;)

Ok you hooked me, that looks like fun and as I am piecing together a Flathead Ford six powered speedster I want to see where this goes.

I would love to have a flat six, or even an eight! I just found the deal on the buzz saw thing and knew I could get some funds back. Like my last build, I try to buy everything local, so it takes a while. I stumbled upon an old timer today with sone resto Model A's right by my work. So I have a new buddy to help me! :)

Hahahaha. Still plotting. Still gathering. I have been buying up tools and practicing the English wheel for when the time comes to build a body.

I quit my job at the restoration shop and have been working at home doing metal work for people. Being self employed can be rough. Once I get through the Winter things will be a little less crazy.

I reckon I will follow this since it seems I am building a speedster sort of thing too.

Cool! Another build. Watchin' from the other side of the river.

I dug the Modified at The Mayhem and Im sure I'll dig this. Already do.

Im kinda doing the same type of build just a early 30's style. 29 Plymouth with a 32 Desoto style grille. Flat6 powered. Would be cool to have em both come out about the same time at The Mayhem in the next few yrs. Let me know if you happen to find any late 20's/early30's Mopar frames in this neck of the woods. Let me know what you need, and Ill keep my eye over this way.....

    Will be watching for ideas.
I found a 27 Hudson cowl, bought it and will build something some time. I'm forcing myself to get the 56 F100 on the road before starting anything else.
