I've been noticing that more & more For Sale ads in the Cl***ifieds either don't have a Price block showing or have "In Ad" in place of the asking price. I can see the "In Ad" if there are multiple parts being listed, but there's quite a few for single parts, usually high dollar parts........maybe they're afraid of scaring off Buyers?? Just seems like people are cir***venting the rules or maybe the rules have changed and I'm not keeping current?
A few things that may clarify 1. Using a phone / Droid....... the extra thread fields don't work in the app yet. 2. If you see a ad with only one part with "in ad" in the price field - just report it and a moderator will close or delete the ad and the seller can repost it with posting the price in the price box. The put the price in the price box decision was a few years ago when guys started putting "in ad" and you had to fish through the ad to see if the price was even there. Because sellers couldn't change the price once it was posted in the price box ( if there was a deal gone bad - Moderators would have a base line to work from ) sellers started putting "in ad" so they could just hit edit and just change the price. Now - if a seller wants to change a price in the ***le ( price box) they can send a PM to a Moderator requesting it ( I get a few weekly) and I can change it. Moderators at least can look to see if a deal goes bad what transpired post wise if that comes up. You see a ad with only one item and "in ad' in the price box send a report. Thanks
.......another exception to the price rule is the guy who's got a parts car. Since we stopped allowing replies to the ads forum, we now allow guys to post their parts cars in the "parts" forum but ask they price the main parts. Rocky
