Thought I'd share this with you guys. My father in law gave this to me about 20 years ago, when I thought getting old was a long, long ways off. Funny how life sneaks up on you. It's later than you think!

    That's very true.

I see friends who are 65 but look 85 years old for many different reasons.

Some of us appear to look in great shape but suffer from other problems like arthritis.

A month from 63, another five years and I'll have outlived my Dad. I keep thinking of him every day, he'd be so sad to see the counrty today. Bob

Life is cruel. When we were young we had good bodies and plenty of desire, but short on time and money. As we age, our bodies and minds grow tired, but we've got more time and hopefully more money.
We should be able to take 20 years off when we're young, and collect retirement. Then start back to work and let them ride us into the ground! ;)

Great story. I, like many people, can't believe how FAST the time has flown by. My Mother told me many years ago "The older you get, the faster the clock runs" Very wise woman , gave me several pieces of "advice" that have been very true to my lifes experiences. I'm thankful for modern medical care, as I'm walking around with a new hip joint, works great. Although, Doc did'nt seem to understand when I requested the "polished stainless steel" unit. John

I need a jump start every morning, octane booster in the evening and stop leak at night.

Of course as your memory fades the kids who weren't even born at the time can tell you 'how it really was' from all the crap, pure fiction and bs that they read on the web. Thank goodness that they are rewriting 'history' for us old farts otherwise we would have no clue. And what's with this 'with age comes wisdom'? It must have completely missed me....;)

I have nothing to add to this.

  18. Life definitely is hard on the body. I think the deterioration is exponentially affected every year. Now days I just thank God when I wake up in the morning and am able to still walk my dog and work out the stiffness and pain.
Thanks for the humorous clipping. I think I am going to steal it..

68 but I still feel like 50 on a good day......I just don't have as many good days as I used to. :D

  20. These "golden" years are just a little bit tarnished.:D

  21. I find comfort knowing I can blame my memory loss on face plants while riding stingray bikes and steel wheeled skate boards , and hearing loss on cherry bombs and rock and roll. I wouldn't have it any other way.

when asked how I feel I would like to reply "I've felt a lot better" but then after thinking about it I have to add "I've also felt one hell of a lot worse". At 69 I enjoy the good when it comes and deal with the not so good as best I can and never pass anything up because I feel I'm too old. You live, you die and if you are real lucky you will get to ride trials motorcycles and drive around a roadster in between.

As my daddy told me-"Fifty is the youth of old age." Enjoy life, you pups. You'll be in our shoes sooner than you think.
