  3. Check out this 58 Citation that was for sale here last year. Cool rear mointed A/C unit. Looks like Lincoln stuff? Or aftermarket? What do you think?

    Yeah, screwed that up

  6. Lovin this thread, I am surprised that someone hasn't started an Edsel social group, or is there one? I think Mercury had a similar AC unit as shown on the 58 Citation.

I really like this one. The way the top panels curve down instead of being straight like the production models really makes a huge difference, as does the headlight placement. That would be killer to build.

I think that's one of the best looking 59's I have seen. I was gonna bust you out on the typo but I figure at your age it's just nice to see you using a computer ha ha. Zing.

What kinda scheme do you have in mind Bruce? I think it's pretty damn sharp as it is.

  17. That need nothing but some gas and a destination. Looks great.

I do like that photochop front end treatment though.

CCC being a hardtop is making me double check that crewcab Corsair. The patina is actually kinda cool looking. It has a some cool options it looks like.... that rear AC would be interesting to figure out. I would appreciate any AC right now.... its our 3rd day over 100 degrees here.

Kuumakyyti --- That dash looks good. The guage faces are sharp. I have a sick idea to throw some heavy flake across the painted part on the top and polish out the chrome part. I thought it would be cool to see the two play off each other back and forth.

Ouch, you sure know how to hurt an old man. LOL At my age I've seen it all, heard it all and done it all. I just can't remember it all.

I'm only going to do the roof and cove/spear for right now. It always bugged me that whoever painted the spear never took it past the door. This is just a starting point/idea of what I'm going for:

Thanks man, that the hardest part of doing anything like the photoshop is getting rid of the chrome. That's why i'm still mulling it over.

you know I am baffled here...

this thread is 20 pages deep thus far and I see it bumped everday,

Now mind you I am a fan of Edsels so calm down:)

but I have a super clean 59 Corsair 2dr hard top that options out to one of ten cars made that year and I can't give it away?

I had some dude offer me 7k for it the other day???

seriously? a very good rot free running and driving late 50's car with a mint interior?

so my point is, one of you should buy my edsel:)

    Im flexible:D

I do secretly wish it was a 58 though...

hotdamn ---- I have been drooling over your Edsel. My girlfriend flipped her Civic last year (she's fine) and has been saving for a new ride. I keep showing her yours.... I wish we were closer than opposite coasts. Throw a link to your AD on here and you never know....

As for not selling yet.... blame the economy, blame the President, blame unemployment and foreclosures,.... who knows. I wish I had the cash coz it would look badass next to my 58. And it would put me 2/3rds of the way to owning every year. AND I would love to give Bruce a run for his money on best looking 59 at the shows we both frequent.

    Good luck with the sale.

  25. I hear you about the selling cars thing....I just had to almost give away a 50,000 mile original Turquoise/white paint, original tri-tone interior, 292 fordamatic, usual 1/4 rust, unmolested, daily driver, 1959 Fairlane Galaxie 500 4 door Towne Sedan. It went away for $1,500.00 with the replacement used rust free 1/4s and trunk floor!!!! I miss that car...

and yea I know the economy is crap but I also have ran into a lot of ignorance to.

I have offered a few trades to people where I would be on the low end and i get comments like, "edsels? hell them cars are lemons aint they?" or my favorite " I asked my buddy about your edsel and he said that them cars in mint condition only bring about 6k."

Poor Edsel Ford... its amazing that he didn't take his own life after having put so much effort into these cars only to be so grossly misunderstood...

I couldnt imagine the amount of rejection that he felt...

I'm with Drew on this, too bad your on the east coast. I don't know if mama would be open to another Edsel, but with PS and PB plus air maybe. I don't think you would have as much trouble selling it here as the odd rod seems to be in style now. Good Luck!

Drew..Your Edsel is every bit a winner as much as you think mine is. Neither one may not be trophy winners but they do get a lot of attention.

This 4-door sedan taxi from the Lemon Cab Co is parked across the street from The Rusty Bolt when the actual Taxi Stand of the Lemon Cab Company is.

If you are in Seligman AZ you can see the '59 above!
