Yesterday We had cruising at Vantaa Heureka , near Helsinki, about 300 cars visited there, even 2 Pacer Convertibles, my Coral-White and one very wicked custom painted Edsel Pictures here: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10201557222311885.1073741829.1217243004&type=1&l=5a155ee454

My brother Fred had one.... We went to the junkyard, got a set of "FORD" letters, in as close a match as we could find, and my brother became owner of a one off "FREDSEL" My brother had a lousy sense of humor... He went ballistic cause we drilled holes in the body to do it.
Dang, I dig those '58s. Got Edsels on the brain right now. Not to be spammy but check out my little Kickstarter project... http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/240113606/the-edsel-project
How's everyone's Edsels doin in 2014? Still have mine, been busy with work and life and don't drive it as much as I have in the past. With this dry winter we have been having I should be driving it more.
Its been so cold and snowy here, I dont want to even go to the garage to work on mine. But I am having a little withdrawal from working on mine so maybe real soon. I hope!
Radideator is out of mine for repair at the moment to get ready for the spring. You know what they say about the EDSEL E very D ay S omething E lse L eaks Oldmics
The 58 is an original color that was only available in Canada only. As it stands for now it is the only one known in existence to be that color. I know since I own the car now and have researched the data plate info.
My parents had one that I wrecked in 66 still have it but its RRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF out in weather since then with the last 20 years hood opened no carb under oak tree so motor probably nota so gooda
Both of ours are still on the back burner. I told the wife I'll start working on hers if she helps clean it out. She hates cleaning.....
Some progress here: Month ago I replaced radiator, new one is UsRadiator Fairlane 57-59 radiator. Cap is in wrong place on left corner, with flat cap, there was only 2mm clearance between flat radiator cap and hood. So, I drilled new holes to radiator side brackets, now there is more than 1/2" inches clearance between hood and cap. I am living in metric world, so now I have metric speedometer too. All images taken with my very special Nokia Lumia 925 :O) Maybe still 3 months before snow melts away and driving season starts.
Ill have mine at the Sac Autorama tomorrow. Gonna dust it off, run it around the block, and if that goes well I see no issues in flogging it 150 miles up the road. Top off some fluids and lets roll.
Im doin a mild custom to my 1959 ranger, still in the works. All of the rust has been patched, and the whole car has been gone through. The rear is bagged, and the front sits on ford Aerostar springs which are 3in shorter. I did a custom 58/59 grill because the original 59 grill is plain ugly with all of those horizontal bars. Its laced and flaked on the roof Plans for the drive train is the stock 292 y-block with the 2 speed mile-o-matic transmission. Ofcourse to give her a little push to move the ol girl the motors bored 60 over, mild can, and 312 big valve heads. It's been a fun project for my dad and I, he's taught me a lot for im only 17 and still in high school. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
