ford 2.0 2.3 id help

    does any one know how i can tell what it have and what rear

    this is for a mini stock race car any does any one have any build up tricks

    Do a search. There was a pretty exhaustive thread a couple of months ago. You didn't mention what its in.

    In a nutshell, a couple of quick identifiers.

    2.0 - carbed, valve cover is stamped steel with ribs front to back. If the valve cover is off, there will be 3 cam supports and an oiling tube.
    2.3 - several variations. Valve cover is usually more boxy or might even be aluminum. Has 4 cam supports and no oiling tube.

    There's an amazing amount of 2.3 guys on here, I'm one of em, but I don't know about mini stocks. I'm using one in my 29 A Sedan, plan on the Volvo DOHC head swap.
