The Weber you want is a 32/36 DGV series progressive carb. Another would be a DGEV. DGV will always get my vote. Check with ANY VW specific shop in your area, [/QUOTE]

Would the dfev with the clockwise opening be a better fit for the falcon 6?
And You guys must have those vw shops all over the place.

DFEV? YES! That is what I run!

It does, however, come with jets most appropriate for a small 4-cylinder. Either way, you will have to re-jet, but especially so with this one.

Start here, and you should have an excellent jumping off point for tuning:

    Idle jets - Primary 60, Secondary 50

    Mains - Primary 155, Secondary 160

    Air corrector - Priamry 180, Secondary 160.

And yes, there are 3 VW shops within range of me.

I can think of six VW shops left in the Phoenix area, down from about 25 or so back in the eighties.

I'm not a huge fan of DFEVs my self. With the Cl***ic Inlines adaptor it places the linkage along the valve cover and it's all just a bit close. That DGVE puts it on the outside P***enger side of the engine in line with the stock pedal pull. A piece of 1/4" rod stock and two female Heim joints and your linkage is taken care of, depending on what arm is on your carb when you get it. worse comes to worse you can spend ten minutes whittling an arm out of 18/" st

My DFEV linkage is the STOCK one, in the stock location, on the p***enger side. Took about 10 minutes to hook it up.

I chopped a chunk of the original carburetor bellcrank, and welded it on to the Weber one, and then snapped the rod right back on.

Can you snap a pic of the linkage, so I can make a educational decision.
This put the electric choke on the firewall side correct?

I won't be near the car until later this week., possibly tomorrow. I will snap a pic then.

    Yes, choke towards the firewall.

Just an update on the 61 Comet engine project. Found a dizzy for a 68-74 engine and it fit the block opening and bottomed out on the block, so I guess it fits the oil pump drive. Gonna get the Pertronix kit with the coil this week too.
Still looking for the Weber DGV, called 2 VW shops with no luck. They must s**** stuff quick in these parts. Are the Redline carbs good or do I need an original Italian made one?
Contacted my Mustang buddies and trying to get a line on the right bellhousing to install a C4.

The Redline stuff will do you just fine.

Damn. I totally forgot to get a picture of the linkage.

The easiest way to envision it is, on the DGV, the pivot ball that the throttle rod attaches to is above the shaft. On the DFEV, it attaches below.

The end result is the same, with mirror-image carburetor bodies.

  10. Not all 66 or 67 200 inlines have loadarubish distributors, California smog fitted cars have conventional distributors and non load fitted Autolite carb

i've messed with these a little. used to be a kit to install two more carbs which involved machining flat spots on the intake manifold. also, you can use heads from a 144, 170,200 or 250 to change compression ratio around. but the 200 is a pretty good engine and should run a long time.

Got a prospect for the swap from the 2 speed auto trans to a C4. Just wanted to run it by you guys before I made the purchase. Found a bellhousing with part #( C5GP-7976-A) stamped on it at a friends place. Does this seem to be the early unit I need to mate to my 65, 200 inline block and use a later model c4?

Unable to post a shot the the part because it is 90 miles away. I got a call from a buddy who has it, that plays with Mustangs. Is there something specific I should ask him about it regarding the block side? He will probably hold it til I confirm it is what I need.
Also, got a Weber 32/36 DGV, manual choke carb and need the jetting specs for my 200 engine. Hope Gimpy or Louvers can help me out with this info.

This should get you in the ballpark:

    Idle jets - Primary 60, Secondary 50
    Mains - Primary 155, Secondary 160
    Air corrector - Priamry 180, Secondary 160.
