Ford 223 trans question

    dont laugh but how do I add trans fluid and how do I know its full? Its a 4 speed on the floor. A picture would allways help. Thanks

    There is a pipe plug on the passenger side,you fill until it just starts to run out.Easiest way to fill is with a pump,most auto stores sell them. ROY.

    I use a big funnel with a long hose and a shut off valve. Put the funnel where it is easy to add fluid (usually the engine bay), and the end of the hose in the transmission fill hole. When it starts over flowing turn off the shut off valve. Drain the remaining fluid from the funnel/hose contraption back into the transmission fluid bottle for next time. Makes the whole process easier than changing your oil.

    Take out pipe plug, stick finger in hole. If you can touch the oil with your finger tip there is enough in there. If not pump in some more until it starts to run out and put the plug back in.
