Technical Ford 223ci split manifold idea.

    As stated, this is just an idea that crossed through my ears while looking at the factory ‘59 Ford 223ci six exhaust manifold.
    2 holes, top and bottom separated by the thermal spring plate. Normal operation would heat the intake until reaching certain temperature and opening to rest of the exhaust system. Everyone know this although I’m sure I will be corrected if I missed something.
    With an aftermarket intake (2 carb), could the baffle be removed and exhaust be routed down through the original collector & the “intake collector?” Thus creating a sort of split manifold?
    Not ideal but keep in mind, we are hot rodders after all. IMG_0324.jpeg

    Yes, it could/would work.
    Yes, it would look pretty odd, with one pipe coming up and out between the two carbs.

    Just curious if any has tried it.
    Might sound cool and could be an interesting setup.
