    Another way to go would have to install it it in a 67-68 Mustang with the same shock tower treatment as the Boss 429's. The 68 Hemi Barracudas/ Darts would actually have some competition.

  8. Ford never seriously considered offering these to the general public as the engines supposedly cost them about $10K each to build. They were all-out race motors and image-builders, in the same vein as the DOHC Indy motors and the GT40 program. And when the motor was originally conceived, IIRC NASCAR was only requiring 50 'production' examples needed to be built to make them legal. That got changed to 500 by the time it was ready, far more than what they figured the market would absorb. Seeing how Ford would have to sell every one of them at a loss (there was zero market for a $14-15K Ford in '65!) plus the impossibility of dealer service, they pulled the plug on it.

    Rumor has it that Jay Brown is building a massive 605 ci. SOHC for an upcoming attempt at Drag Week. Guess his 585" version just wasn't enough.....

    And those Holleys have the Le Mans bowls which sets them apart from conventional Holleys! ;)

    Holley should have added the quick jet change feature to them fuel bowls.... Oh, well.... Can't have it all... :(:rolleyes:

    Yeas was on there and tried several times to get membership but it was such a hassle I gave up.
