There was a legend in the late 70's of a gent in Michigan with a Cammer in a 61 Starliner who got a ticket for "Excessive Horsepower" while idling at a stoplight

Another friend has 3 Cammer race cars, a Pinto, "Light Duty"- a Maverick, "Medium Duty"- and a 62 Galaxie, "Heavy Duty". The Galaxie he got from John, used to be a C/MP car when John had it. John has huge stockpiles of NOS and used parts that are slowly being sold off on ebay and FB. Really great guy and a genuine BTDT
BTW, my old buddy Walter Cantrell got what has to be the slowest speeding ticket ever in a gennie 427 Cobra in 1976- 40 in a 35 zone, right in front of the Ford dealership in Napa, on Saturday afternoon. Drew quite a crowd, which PO'd the cop, so he wouldn't let him off with a warning, got the ticket

Why do cop's have to be such Asshole's? Why can't they just sit back and enjoy it???

Pretty sure the cop would have let him go, if the crowd wasn't telling him to quite so loudly

I owned what had been a SOHC Pro Stock "medium duty" car, bad news was the cars' history was blotted out when it was turned into a gas and altered car with a tube chassis.
I won't go into detail as to what engine I used, it might give Gene fits!

Ditto the Rick's Garage post. 500 were built.

Earlier in the thread someone wrote about Jim Green's collection of 'Cammers'. At one time he had 28 of them. Also, he never raced that motor. When he had his "Green Elephant" TF/FC s, he ran Keith Black Hemi's in them. He did have an SOHC in the front engine dragster "The Assassin" that he restored in the early 2000s. That car originally (late '60s) did have an Ed Pink built SOHC in it.

I'm thinking more like 2500 cammers were built by Ford.....
    I could be wrong.....
