Rebuilding several 7RT carburetors I recently bought 5 Ford 7RT carburetors off eBay as parts carbs that will need rebuilding. They all have matching tops so I can run matching air cleaners. The plan is to eventually run two of them on an 8BA dual carb intake. I’m hoping out of the five I can build at least two that match well and run properly together. In the meantime I’ll run them one at a time on a single setup while I gather the rest of the parts and work toward the dual carb setup. While searching around I found quite a few old threads with dead links to manuals and specifications. Does anyone have a good current link to a rebuild manual with specs for these carbs? I did come across some Charlie Price videos that look helpful at first glance, but I haven’t watched them yet. I’d rather wait until I have the carburetors and rebuild kits in front of me so I can follow along. I also see Cowboy John sells rebuild kits and plan to give him a call. For organization, I’m thinking of buying four large baking sheet pans and dis***embling each carburetor into its own pan so the parts stay together. Curious what others use when laying out parts while rebuilding multiple carbs at once and trying to pick the best components.
My only thought is that you are restricting your choice of air cleaners/scoops by using the truck carburetors.
Why the 7RT can have flat sides, they all have 7RT as the model on them. I found air cleaners I like, waiting for my manifold, and a couple carbs to get spacing and see if they fit. If there was room I’d run two oil bath cleaner shells with a paper filter.
