Good info Tingler!!! That's how I learned...so if you get the clearance a little 'loose" you won't have to drive 200 miles to get it fixed!! ha ha ha ,,just kidding...Dig in there and you'll find it's not as hard as it looks.. Bolt the punkin to an engine stand,that will make it easier. I made an adjuster tool from steel strap, and 1/4" rod. The marking compound is going to tell all, except for the 'preload" Good luck... Yeah - this works for 9" as well - same basic rear, just bigger. This info is out there...it's in a lot of the older Motors manuals too...new manuals are crap.
