Ford 9" in a 49 Chevy

Will a Ford 9" rearend from a 60's station wagon work in a 49 Chevy Buisness coupe?Any special problems?

 

Mine 9in is 56in backing plate to backing plate its a little wider than it should be but it fits.

 

The most correct way to measure a rear end for width is from axle flange to axle flange.....that way the width of the drums do NOT mess you up.

Measure yours and compare to the ones on this list.....
