Ok, so i've got an 31-spline Ford rear. It's an C7AW-E unit with Traction Loc.
Problem is that my pinion pilot bearing is way smaller than usual...saved everything when i took it apart EXCEPT that pilot bearing and retainer. Don't ask me why.... :/
Took it apart for restoring and gearing swap, and everything else in the Richmond kit is ok, except that pilot bearing and retainer....
The one i got in the kit is 1.85" outer diameter which seem to be the "normal" size, but from what i can measure, i need a beraing that's 1.60" approx outer diameter.
Inner diameter is the same (approx 1.15")...
Looked everywhere for what i need, but can't seem to find that smaller bearing or retainer....
Any ideas that could take me in the right direction???

    /Stefan

I'm going to ask a Really Dumb*** Question and I hate to do it. But by any chance is the outer shell of the old Bearing still in the Hole. This is a Caged Bearing?

  3. That would explain why it's missing from the OEM parts....

Is it possible that the outer race is still there?

Pull the pinion back out, Pretty sure the bearing goes in from the front. Look's like the outer race is still in there.
