Flying buddy of mine found this sitting outside a car shop out at the LVMS Industrial Park. At first I thought it was a "barn find" till I noticed the headers, wishbones, wheels/lowered suspension etc. Looks as though the owner is proud of the ****py patina and rust perforations...bummer. Don't know what the "Paid2Play" means, nor can I discern what the lettering at the bottom part of the signage says.
I have a problem with people whose cars are DONE....but still proudly displaying rusty headlight buckets, rust perforations, etc. I'm a traditionalist and that's not traditional at all. Back "in the day" we made concerted efforts to fix that type of stuff, as we were proud of our cars and our handiwork. If you're a fan of Rat Rods...this may not be your final resting place in the world of car forums. That being said - the pictured vehicle is in excellent shape and should be fixed up a bit. I don't have a problem with faded paint, or primer - it's the neglected rust/proud to show it off that I don't like.
Comparing the car you found to your avatar.... Your avatar is how you IMAGED your car to look like back in the 50's and 60's. The car in the parking lot is how it really looked......
And.. its still his car, so he can do what he wants with it theres no way for you to know his plan, his finances, and his time or skill level Im jacked as hell that he's out driving it some times i wish i had built my ch***is and threw my body on it..I would have been driving it and having fun with it a long time ago..we all have a different deck of cards to play from and than there are those that will ***** about getting hung with a brand new rope
Perhaps he has just gotten it running and plans to work on the body while also ironing out the bugs of the ch***is and running gear build. Thats what have done with every vehicle Ive built....... Build the Suspension and drive train and put the body on and get it running, then realize that the suspension needs minor rework, or the wiring harness and brackets need moved around....not happy with how I built the motor mounts..... Sure, driving it and enjoying it while doing the body patches slows down the process a lot, but it does make it to where you can solve a lot of problems and not worry about messing new paint. I really doubt his plan is to call it finished, and not have a dooor handle (possible, but doubtful), and unless the rear end is bagged, he will also be adjusting the rear suspension. Of course, with my poor luck, I say all of that.... and itll be the one dude out there that thinks it is done and Ill have egg on my face, but ill give the benefit of the doubt and ***ume the better than ***uming the worse.
Everybody has there own Idea of cool.... At least its not Hot pink and Turquoise two tone with tweed interior... lol
seeing how much it irritated the original poster, i now have to build one just like it, except i'll have hot pink and turquoise rims with tweed lugnuts.
I wouldn't try to guess what the owners intentions are at this point. They may consider it finished, or as others have mentioned, it may have been completed to the runner stage with additional work to come.
Who cares it doesnt look like an out of wack stupid low rr,looks like he drives, and enjoys so maybe you should go drive yours and go talk to him maybe your hotrod will inspire that dude and at least its not rice.
I don't see why you would drag someone else's car in here just to bag on them. It's not like they posted it asking for opinions. You make a lot of ***umptions based on a pic. of a parked car. But if you insist on getting all ***** knotted... Google: Paid2Play Kreations
I could live with owning it, I would keep working on it, welding up the rust holes and try to get it painted at some time. But I think it look damn good.
Prop, I think you should drag your avatar off of the trailer, and go find that rods owner. After you find him, tell him what he did wrong, and what he should do to it, to satisfy your senses. Please make sure you film this encounter, because I want to see your *** get kicked. I imagine you're a grumpy ******* at cruises and shows.
All of this is based your ***umption that he is DONE with the car. I think if had started the post with "I was driving around and saw this car, thought maybe it was a barn find, but it wasn't. It is in pretty good shape and it appears that he is making a hot rod out of it. I hope he fixes the small issues with rust and whatnot, then it will be super bad***." Responses may have been a little different. Cool car nonetheless, Joe
well, guess I've been chastized sufficiently. You're all correct - I really don't know what his intentions are. It could have been delivered to that shop in order to cherry it out and paint it. I agree with one of the responders...at least he's driving it. I'll make an effort to tone down the rhetoric when commenting on vehicles in the future. My intent was to share a photo of a very together (***embly-wise) A-bone comparing it to some of the stuff that HAMBers have resurrected that were much worse off. Hope you all enjoy the 4th of July weekend. dj
