I have a 1950 car project going. I bought a 94 Ford Bronco 8.8 rear axle for a swap. I don't really know a heck of a lot about doing it, but fiqure it cant be too difficult. Axle width and spring perches are perfect. The problem might be the ELECTRONIC MODULE on the 8.8. If I disconnect it will the rear still work, Need help here Please, Thanks Stan
The "electronic" module you refer to is for the anti-lock brakes. Disconnecting it will have no effect on the operation of the rear axle or brakes.
You can remove the sensor completely and plug the hole with a 'cup' plug or leave it place, as you see fit. Even though the spring pad width may be correct, you should (will need to) check the pinion angle when the axle is in place and the weight of the car is on the springs. If the pinion angle is incorrect, by only a few degrees, wedge shims are available to place between the spring and spring pads to correct the angle. Ray
