    Hi
Doing some mods to my front grille are and wondering if anyone can post up a front view of a bare 54 ford car fender. I have 53’s but just want to see the changes required to run a trim right across the upper grille opening down to the front apron area
Maybe it is easier to source some 54 fenders but prefer not to as I have revised there’s at therocmer and lights
    Cheers

Don't have any myself, but if you contact H OTRODPRIMER by PM he may be able to help you as he did a restore on a '54 wagon and has all sorts of pics.

The '53 & '54 Ford front fenders are very similar and bolt on the same but the 53 Ford front fender comes to a slight peek on top of the fender where the '54 fender is more rounded. HRP

I have heard the fender opening on a 54 is in a different location then a 52-53 due to the change to front end suspension in 1954?

I've always heard this too, that the '54 fenders are different beyond just the edges of the grille.

The moldings you want to run a trim down to the bumper pan is a 54 Ford center section but '55 side pieces, '54 won't extend all the way down, they end where the grille bar wraps around. The '54 and '55 pieces match up really nicely. You'll have to rework the leading edge of the front fender somewhat unless you can find some '55 front fenders to chop that section out of, but it's very do-able.

    Thanks everyone, much appreciated.
Yes, Squablow that the area I am interested in and was trying to figure out the trims that were used so great info !!
I will try and get some 54 fender photos to work my fenders to in this area and I am better off keeping my original / modified fenders as I wasnt aware there was any other changes
    Thanks again

It's been a couple decades, but I think '56 fenders are identical to '55, except for trim mounting holes.

I think if you find the moldings, you can just modify your current front fenders to fit the trim, the '54 front fender leading edges would have to be modified anyway even if they did interchange, and '55 fenders won't bolt on at all. It's just a matter of reworking that raised radius on each side, it'll take a little metalwork but not bad.

Sounds like the plan, have found a grille in the US but have got the trims locally here in Australia
Looking at it there is probably a change required to the front apron but will figure it out
    Thanks for all the help
