What I'd like to find out is where to get a data tag that's printed properly.
I removed the words in my original post in hopes of not attracting any more
    schoolmarms like you two.

Well, at least you know what an F-1 tag looks like now.

    41fastback thanks for the tip.
It does look good. My guess is that they're licensed by Ford but like anything else they're being boot-legged, hence the poorer quality of the one I have.

Unkledaddy never said he was going to use or not use the tag to be the legal ID for the car.
He was not happy with the quality of the tag he got and asked if there were any better ones out there.
Simple question that should have got a simple response.

It seems that every time a thread comes up that has anything to do whatsoever with Serial/Vin# stuff, it gets twisted and turned into going to the Federal Penn!

I cant see where adding this tag is a Federal offense.

Cars have Serial/Vin numbers on them in various places that are not the legal ID for the car.
Examples: Dodge trucks had a sticker under the hood with the options and Vin#
GM had a sticker in the trunk with options and Vin#
Gm had stickers on the door with production date and Vin#
Window stickers have the Serial/Vin# on them and we all remove that sticker!
None of these could be used as a legal ID for the car and if the stickers fell off or the components they were stuck to got replaced, the person who replaced the component wont go to prison.

Also, in my neck of the woods, it was common for alarm companys to etch the glass of the car with the Vin# for theft purposes. (The 100s of alarm companys that did that or still do it, didnt go to prison for doing it )

As far as Im concerned adding a Serial/Vin# tag to the car that matches the factory issued and registered number, for whatever reason he wants to put the tag on for, is NOT TAMPERING with the factory Serial/Vin# tag or stamping.

Hope you find a tag that meets the quality for what you are looking for .
