    D1 would indicate first engineered/produced in 1971 but could have produced for several years with that number.......very likely a 302

    Yep i's a 1971 or later 302 .
    Also take the valve covers off and see what the head is stamped . Another good place is in the valley under the intake . It will have a 289 or 302 there also .

    1971 302, Torino Fairlane. New block came out in 72 (D2 #) so it is most likely a 1971 only motor

    D = 1970
    1 = 1 (which makes it 1971)
    O = Torino/Fairlane
    E = Engine
    6015 = engine block
    AA = 302

    D1OE 6015-AA is a 1970-74 302 block . 70-72 had a 8.206 deck height and the 73-74 had a 8.229 deck height. It is a Fairlane/Torino block.

    Is there a aluminum tag under the coil.
