This may be a little different: does anyone know of an aftermarket adapter to mate a Ford 226 flathead 6 to a 48 or later Chevy truck transmission. Thanks.
TransDapt does not list them in the old catalog pages...not surprising, the idea was usually to put in a better engine....
You need a flat six ford bellhousing for a light duty F1 truck 48 to 52 and a flathead to chevy transmission adapter https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Speedway-GM-Manual-Trans-to-Flathead-V8-Adapter-GM-Clutch,11098.html
Here is a link to a source for Ford flathead six parts and information. Modern Driveline has information describing the belhousings, and adapters. https://www.moderndriveline.com/a-short-history-of-the-flathead/ http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/flathead_six-cyl.htm Bob
Thanks all. And I hear what you’re saying Jim. I’m thinking outside the box. . You see so many Chevy engines in Fords, I think it would be interesting to turn it around. (My colleagues on the Stovebolt forums may not appreciate it. )
There is a reason you see so many Chevy engines in Fords you know. I would think the guys on the Stovebolt forums would take up a collection to send you to get some help to straighten out your thinking
