I have a f100 steering box I'm trying to use on a 33 ford with a steering rod out the driver side up to the front. the pitman arm has the ball joint on the inside facing the p*** side and I would like to find a pitman arm with the ball on the outside or just a open pitman arm to lessen the angle any ideas..i do not want to use a vega cross steer box, any ideas to match the splines on a f100 box. thanks

  2. You can use a stock f100 pitman arm and shorten it if you needed too. The stock setup on the f100 is the ball on the pitman arm is facing out (towards the tire).

Well there you go! I just ***umed I had an original pitman arm. many thanks.

  4. It probably still is. Why don't you just pull the pitman arm off, flip it around with the ball sticking out and stick it back on? I'm confused...

Speedy.. the splines are not cut all the way thru the pitman arm so it only goes on one way.

  6. That make sense. The F100 pitman arm is a clamp on style, as opposed to held on with a nut. Might be easier to take a file and finish off the splines to reverse it, but it shouldn't be too hard to find an F100 pitman arm either.

no, it goes on either with the ball facing in or out. the splines are not tapered on an F100 box/pitman arm

  8. I'm using the same setup on my '28.

  9. Use the 53-56 f100 pitman arm for the ball and I believe a 57-60 for a tapered hole.
