Yup! I dig the old pics with the mix of the current pics of the old factories.

Another great thread. All of the cars are interesting, no matter what they are. It's history.

Maybe this is how ford decided on color combinations:D
Actually, this is a styling exercise photo for the '58 Retractable....

'46-'47 on the left (I think the parking lights moved below the headlights in mid-1947) and '49 on the right ('50s had the Ford Crest instead of the F-O-R-D lettering).

    Great thread.

Two recent posts noting details on car's on the line that were not "correct" for year / trim level etc.. I think this was more common in those days. My Dad had a new 49', 53', and 55' - He said his 49' was a late build and showed up with 50' bumpers, and trunk handle / plate surround. His 53' had some 52' interior trim parts. By 55' he was doing well enough to step up from stripped Customline's to a loaded Fairlane - his car wasn't supposed to have any engine dress items per the paperwork (not ordered), but showed up with not only a bunch of chrome, but half of it was T-Bird stuff that wasn't available on the Fairlane. Different time when things weren't let go to waste, and computers didn't forecast things down to the last unit.
