Thanks. I'm not sure what the previous owner used. But I love the way it looks.

  5. I have a new to me 65 Fairlane. I bought it a few months ago. This one is a post! It's also my third 65 Fairlane I've owned.
First pic is in the garage next to my Mustang.
Second pic is my 16 year old son cutting out the rusted floorboard on the passenger side.

Here is the progress on the Les Ritchey/Mel Burns Ford 65 Fairlane drag car. Been working as money and time will allow.

I have a 1964 Fairlane 500 wagon and the previous owner by passed the safety neutral switch. I noticed some of the safety neutral switch wires were replaced. Looks like they caught on fire and melted, also the wires leading to the power window relay on the firewall were melted too. Im working on getting the lights to work but I keep blowing fuses. My headlights turn on, indicator lights in the instrument panel work, high beam light in the instrument panel works, rear window switch works, no dome lights, no taillight, no brake lights, only rear passenger turn signal works. The rear window limit switch was removed by the previous owner too. Anyone experience this? It has a factory C4 trans & 289

Not much since that picture was taken. Got a couple customer cars we are trying to get done by March. After that I'm back on it.

***Update***the dome light switch in the rear driver side became brittle and fell into the pillar, it was making contact with bare metal resulting in my fuses blowing. I disconnected the dome light harness, replaced the fuse, tail lights turn on now. The plan is to replace all 4 dome light switches next. My heater fuse continues to blow out. Any suggestions on wear to check?

Former owner stuff is one of my pet peeves! I had to undo a bunch of technicolor spaghetti on my hard top and this wire diagram helped alot. I cut a clean edge on one and taped it together.

On the heater check for bare wire shorts and bench test the blower motor it might be pulling too much resistance and need replaced.

Thanks John. It will have a Fe with a 4 speed one day. Its a long term project and will be set up like a stocker. Gotta get my galaxie going this year.

Here it is next to the galaxie. You can clearly see the galaxie is a beast next to a fairlane. Although the fairlane is almost just as long. I'll have to get a pic of that too.

Wish I had never sold it.
Previous owner had done some wacky stuff to it. He thought he was "making" a Thunderbolt clone.

  26. I am pretty sure I have posted on this thread before. But, I have my 56 lowered a little more and finally got the 3x2 on. Just turned over a little over 88,000 original miles after my 1500 mile road trip in October.

IMG_4338.JPG I don't believe I've posted it before, but here's my '63 Ranch Wagon- at least the good side. Probably going to get it back in the shop to finish the driver's quarter replacement within the next couple of weeks, in hopes to have it on the road again by late spring.

Under the hood looks bone stock but it's got a fresh 302 with a C4 trans. The rest of the car is original. I bought it wrecked, hit hard in the driver's quarter. Replaced the bent axles and shackles, got a solid 4 door sedan quarter and stretched it 6" to fit the wagon, just need to finish stitching it all together. It'll make a good driver to take my 2 year old son to shows in with room to spare.
