Best I can do is 1:25 scale for now! This is an original AMT annual kit I picked up a couple of years back- Here's what it looked like then- yes, that is permanent marker all over it! Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki And here's how it looks now- Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Now that I actually know how to paint, I think I'm going to break it back down and give 'er a fresh coat that doesn't look like the produce aisle at IGA!
There is a bass ass Fairlane over at DogFight. http://www.dogfightmag.com/2010/08/a-1964-fairlane-hits-nurburgring/
Here is one I just picked up pretty cheap IMO. Everything seems to be there and its pretty solid from what I can tell so far.
My 63 Fairlane 500 project is old 60's drag and street car. Hunting for few parts like a narrowed rear axle with 31 to 35 spline, locker or spool etc. Will be mostly a drag car.
Here's one I saw recently. Check out the radiused wheel openings...Ford should have made 'em like this to start.
Here's a couple I found for sale. $800 buys them both. Blue one said to run. 6 Cylinder auto and a flintstone car.
here's my 61 i had posted on here no takers so im going to make it my daily driver ... unless some one wants to give it a good home...
Mine is a 1966 390, 4 speed. I cruise and race on TNT days against my buddies and their GM's. It goes 12.50's but I always want more. I got a 427 block and hope to come up with the scratch to build it soon. On the high banks of Bristol Motor Speedway at the Fairlane Club National Meet. just gettin started. 390 auto, going to slam it porter muffs and bellflowers, then drive it till its ready for some flake.
My 1962 in front of the shop, and a picture of my new fins and taillights, I have since changed up the taillights and sunk them in.
I love the "Old Rag!" My Fairlane is kind of heading this way with the lettering and old drag race equipment. Is your car FE powered? Mike
Here is mine. It is getting a mild FE for now, and a Nostalgia Super Stock "look" to it. Actually, the 289 came out of the car today (10/30/10). I guy bought it for an old Ford Hot Rod he is building, so I know it has found a good home. Imagine that, a Ford Hot Rod with a FORD motor! I like it.
Mike, any hint on what your "Nostalgic" look will be like? I have aspirations on a "Nostalgic" look as well but have yet to pull the trigger and move forward. Which FE engine are you using?
