Thought a maverick 250 six (rad more power!)would bolt into my 63 falcon wagon with a 170 & stock two speed, boy was I wrong. bellhousing and flexplates are different. Anyway what is the most cost effective way to get this engine in. I would like to use it its a low miler and my stock 170 Broke 5 & 6 pistons so it would cost alot to fix that. So my question is there an adapter plate for my stock trans cause it is in awesome shape. would like to use that but if I can't what trans fits. any direct bolt in ******s? I want the easiest & most cost effective route. Thanks ya'all.

Spend the time and use a C4, 3 gears are better than 2 and they are used for many years.

  3. A C4 would bolt behind it. You will have to forget about the 2spd if you want to use that engine.

My dad tried putting one in a 65 Mustang..too tall, too long as well.

Try to find a 200. You will still need a c4 though.
