Ford FE/C6 Torque Converter Studs?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HotRod28AR, Aug 18, 2011.

  1. I've always encountered bolts with torque converters/flexplates. I'm mating up a C6 to a 428CJ and ordered a new TCI converter. It has 4 threaded tabs, and it came with 4 studs/nuts. The studs have a slot for a allen head on one end. Am I supposed to thred the studs in and weld them on the backside? Then put the nut on from the front once it's all together and lined up through the flexplate? Thanks,

you dont need to weld the studs, red loctite will do fine. put the studs in, let the loctite dry, line the studs up in the flexplate and put the nuts on
